Javea golf course can be found nestled between Moraira and Javea on the Javea- Benitachell road. The well maintained greens are surrounded by beautiful natural pinewood scenery with stunning views to be had from each tee. Dominating the skyline across the course is Javea’s famed Mount Montgo or Elephant mountain.
Opened in 1981 Javea golf course was designed by Francisco Moreno. Although relatively flat this 9 hole course stretches across 6,641 yards, however subtle yet gentle sloping makes it more difficult than it first appears. It’s a par 72 with wide open fairways that encourages golfers but be aware of the 34 bunkers that lurk throughout the course. Low handicaps will find it relatively simple although extremely enjoyable.
The simple design of Javea golf course creates an easy course when viewed from each tee, however once play commences you will find it’s not as straightforward as it first seems. The gentle slopes and sometimes breezy ambiance make Javea golf course quite difficult in comparison to others in the area.
The atmosphere can make the 4th seem rather tricky and the 6th although producing striking views requires an accurate drive. The back 9 differ in length between the tee and the green with the shortest hole the 7th and the longest the 5th. The divergence of each hole makes the course an interesting yet pleasurable round. The variety encompassed throughout the course ensuring Javea golf course has that special touch when you have played them all.
In addition to the course there are two putting greens and a twenty bay driving range to enable lots of practice swings. The well developed club house and excellent restaurant are just the ticket upon completion of Javea golf course. The restaurant chef has numerous personal recommendations which include the daily special from 14.95 Euro and the various Spanish tapas available. A heated swimming pool, children pool and tennis courts make Javea golf course ideal for the whole family.

Further a field to the North of Javea but to the South of Oliva is the 18 hole par 22 Oliva Nova golf course. Designed by Severiano Ballesteros in 1995 this course is open year round and stretches across 6,602 yards. This well designed relatively flat course offers numerous plays at each hole with lots of well placed water obstacles. The facilities include a practice bunker, pitching and putting greens, tuition and a pro shop. The club house and restaurant are an ideal place to visit.
Set in the valley close to Jesus Pobre on the road between Javea and Denia is Club de golf la Sella. This 18 hole, par 72 course was designed by the world famous Jose Maria Olazabal in 1990. This demanding course is almost flat and provides some fast greens. The greens although bordered by scenic landscapes and water obstacles need some skillful driving swing to order to finish on par. It also boasts a twenty bay driving range, putting green and motorized trolleys. The club house although mainly members is open to visitors and offers tennis and squash courts and a large pool.
On the Jaime road urbanization between Moriaira and Calpe is the Club Ifach golf course. It is one of the smallest yet beautiful landscaped courses reaching across 3, 728 yards. This 9 hole, par 60 course offer spectacular views across to the Pennon de Ifach and has proved to be a short yet deceptively tricky course with copious obstacles.
Continuing down the Costa Blanca coast is the Don Cayo golf course. This vigorous 9 hole course was designed by Gregorio Sanz and Pedro Barbar Lloret in 1976. Its located in Altea LaVieja and offers superb views, with plans to expand it to a 18 hole with cable car links. This could be a course to watch for the future.
